A new profession has been defined by the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization in Annex-18 of KKDIK Regulation that is Chemical Assessment Specialist (KDU).

One of the important additional requirements of KKDIK when compared with EU REACH is that Chemical Safety Report should be prepared and signed by a local Certified Chemical Assessment Specialist. Chemical Assessment Specialist can also prepare SDS.

In order to become a Chemical Assessment Specialist, it is necessary to graduate from the undergraduate departments of Science / Arts and Sciences Faculties or Engineering Faculties related to chemistry, biology or environmental sciences, or to do a master's or doctorate in chemical science or to graduate from other undergraduate departments of the university and have worked in the field of production, laboratory, quality control or management of chemicals for at least 5 years.
